I've been directing and shooting professionally for 10 years. I've sat next to editors for thousands of hours. And I can tell you that the moment an editor decides to cut is almost never about what someone said.

It's about how they said it.

The drop in someone's voice when they stop performing and start being honest. The half-second pause before a subject says something they didn't plan to say. The shift in energy when a story turns from setup to revelation.

These are the moments that make an edit feel human. And not a single AI tool on the market is listening for them.

Instead, the industry is flooded with clip generators dressed up as editors. They find soundbites. They don't find stories.
